Articuland 2025 Tour & Summit

Five cities, zero shared system. “Articuland” had never left a single conference room before.

Articulate is an e-learning software company serving 150 million learners. It's moving through a new chapter all at once, repositioning and rebranding for the AI era, overhauling the product itself, and expanding from a US-based category leader into a global brand reaching audiences it's never spoken to before.

Articuland was the name of Articulate’s owned event series. In 2025, it spanned four one-day Tour stops and a two-day Summit across five cities. It needed a creative system that could scale from digital to physical without falling apart. The event microsite (the primary conversion surface) had no precedent inside Articulate and no mapped user journey. Creative had been handed ownership of a major brand launch and none of the operational infrastructure to support it.

01.

Context

Articuland went from a sponsored room at a conference to five owned events across five North American cities, four one-day Tour stops (Atlanta, Austin, Seattle, Toronto) and a two-day Summit in Boston. My team had to build the entire brand from scratch. No brand system existed for Articuland as its own property (no naming, no visual language, no messaging framework, no microsite template).

02.

Problem

Cross-functional partners came to the brand creative team without the inputs a project like this normally starts with: specs, user flows, functional requirements, or a program they’ve run before. That gap wasn't going to close on its own, and no cross-functional partner had the experience to close it on this timeline. That meant pulling the work inside brand creative instead of waiting on a 3rd party vendor that was never going to deliver the right deliverables on time.

03.

How I Moved the Org

I stepped into the cross-functional leadership gap at project start and absorbed what wasn't going to get handed over. That included operating outside of my scope and mapping the microsite's entire user journey because the timeline didn't allow cross-functional stakeholders to deliver it and the entire event conversion pipeline couldn't exist without it. I owned brand strategy, UX direction, creative direction, operations, and executive alignment all at once.
